Energy System Monitoring Based on Fuzzy Cognitive Modeling and Dynamic Clustering

A feature of energy systems (ESs) is the diversity of objects, as well as the variety and manifold of the interconnections between them. A method for monitoring ESs clusters is proposed based on the combined use of a fuzzy cognitive approach and dynamic clustering. A fuzzy cognitive approach allows one to represent the interdependencies between ESs objects in the form of fuzzy impact relations, the analysis results of which are used to substantiate indicators for fuzzy clustering of ESs objects and to analyze the stability of clusters and ESs. Dynamic clustering methods are used to monitor the cluster structure of ESs, namely, to assess the drift of cluster centers, to determine the disappearance or emergence of new clusters, and to unite or separate clusters of ESs.

The Potential of Cylindrical Piezoelectric Transducers for High-Frequency Acoustic Energy Harvesting

The work presented in this paper studies the potential of cylindrical piezoelectric transducers for harvesting high-frequency acoustic energy. The cylinder was made of a modified PZT (lead zirconate titanate) and had the shape of a squared cylinder with a side length of 4 cm and a wall thickness of 1 mm. The study used open-circuit measurements to study the relationship between the sound wavelength and the cylinder size and its effect on the performance of energy harvesting. The cylinder was found to give the best performance at a frequency of 20 kHz. In addition to open-circuit measurements, closed-circuit measurements were performed to demonstrate the ability to dissipate energy harvested from 20 kHz sound waves across an electric load. Effects of Bypass Flow Distribution on Cold Flow Characteristics of Integrated Afterburner

Easily Prepared Transparent Electrodes for Low-Cost Semitransparent Inverted Polymer Solar Cells

The continuous thin film of silver (Ag) film is important for semitransparent electrodes in polymer solar cells, while the Ag atoms form as non-continuous below a critical thickness. Here, semitransparent inverted polymer solar cells were fabricated using thermally evaporated Ag/germanium (Ge)/Ag as highly transparent electrodes. An ultra-thin Ge film was introduced to modify the growth mode of Ag. The dependence of the device performance and the thickness of the outer Ag film was investigated. Ag/Ge/Ag electrodes exhibited excellent optical and electrical properties, which were proved by the transmittance and reflectance spectra. A champion efficiency of 5.1% was achieved with an open-circuit voltage level of 0.703 V, a short current density of 11.63 mA/cm2, and a fill factor of 63%. The average visible transmittance (300−800 nm) of devices with Ag/Ge/Ag was calculated as 25%.

A Hybrid Framework for Detecting and Eliminating Cyber-Attacks in Power Grids

Modelling to Lower Energy Consumption in a Large WWTP in China While Optimising Nitrogen Removal

In the last decade, China has sharply tightened the monitoring values for wastewater treatment plants (WWTPs). In some regions with sensitive discharge water bodies, the values (24 h composite sample) must be 1.5 mg/L for NH4-N and 10 mg/L for total nitrogen since 2021. Even with the previously less strict monitoring values, around 50% of the wastewater treatment plants in China were permanently unable to comply with the nitrogen monitoring values. The distribution and deployment of energy storage systems on a larger scale will be a key element of successfully managing the sustainable energy transition by balancing the power generation capability and load demand. In this context, it is crucial for researchers and policy makers to understand the underlying knowledge structure and key interaction dynamics that could shape the future innovation trajectory. A data-driven approach is used to analyze the evolving characteristics of knowledge dynamics from static, dynamic and future-oriented perspective. To this end, a network analysis was performed to determine the influence of individual knowledge areas. Subsequently, an interaction trend analysis based on emergence indicators was conducted to highlight the promising relations.
