Prof. Stratos Pistikopoulos of Texas A&M and Prof. Yuhe Tian of West Virginia University have published an interesting new book on computer-aided modular process intensification.
The book discusses how the concept of modularity can be used to design chemical processes that are smaller, more efficient, compact, and frankly, more clever. In particular, the book focuses on the SYNOPSIS framework–a collection of methodologies, mathematical models, computer tools, and algorithms that help the engineer to design modular, intensified processes. In addition to teaching the background and major methodologies for designing intensified processes, the book contains many case studies and examples, and the underlying advice is based on years of peer-reviewed research developed by the authors.
