Stability Impacts of an Alternate Voltage Controller (AVC) on Wind Turbines with Different Grid Strengths

This paper studies the stability impact of the alternate voltage controller’s (AVC) low-pass filter (LPF) in a wind turbine’s grid-connected voltage source converter (VSC). A small-signal model of the grid-connected converter is designed with a grid-following synchronization control. More specifically, the non-linear state-space model of the grid-connected converter was developed, including the dynamics of both the inner and outer control loops of the converter, the dynamics of the elements of the electrical system, as well as the digital time delay. An eigenvalue-based stability analysis gives insight into the stability impacts of the outer-loop controllers. It is proven that the cutoff frequency of the AVC’s LPF affects the phase-locked loop (PLL) and AVC bandwidths of instability, as well as the corresponding critical oscillation frequencies. The interaction between maceral composition and supercritical CO2 (SCCO2) fluid will affect gas diffusion behavior in coals. Modulus Estimation of Composites with High Porosity, High Particle Volume Fraction, and Particle Eigenstrain: Application to the LIB Active Layer with a Bridged-Particle Mesostructure

Transesterification and Hydrotreating Reactions of Rice Bran Oil for Bio-Hydrogenated Diesel Production

Two different methods of production of bio-hydrogenated diesel (BHD), simply called green diesel from rice bran oil (RBO), were performed. In the first route, a direct hydrotreating reaction of RBO to BHD catalysed by Pd/Al2O3 was performed in a high-pressure batch reactor. Operating conditions were investigated as follows: catalyst loading (0.5 to 1.5% wt.), temperature (325 to 400 °C), initial hydrogen (H2) pressure (40 to 60 bar) and reaction time (30 to 90 min). The optimal condition was obtained at 1% wt catalyst loading, 350 °C, 40 bar H2 pressure and 60 min. Yields of crude/refined biofuels and BHD achieved were approximately 98%, 81.71% and 73.71%, respectively. In another route, transesterification together with hydrotreating reactions of rice bran methyl ester (RBME) to BHD was performed using the optimal conditions obtained from the first route. The Impact of CO2 Emissions and Energy Consumption on Economic Growth: A Panel Data Analysis

This study aims to examine the dynamic connection among economic growth, CO2 emissions, energy consumption, and foreign direct investments (FDIs). The panel section considers the period of 2000−2020 for 25 EU Member States excluding Malta and Croatia. The annual data are retrieved from the World Bank and Eurostat databases. The empirical analysis used estimation procedures such as first- and second-generation panel unit root tests (CIPS) and panel ARDL based on the three estimators PMG, MG, and DFE. The Hausman test indicated that the PMG estimator is the most efficient. The PMG and DFE estimators suggested that there exist only short-run causalities from CO2 emissions, energy consumption, and FDIs to GDP growth rate, while the MG estimator proved the existence of both short-run and long-run causalities. In this article, the authors present the results of research undertaken in relation to the situation regarding renewable and non-renewable energy reserves in the European Union, as well as the way in which this energy is consumed. The general view presented regarding energy resources around the world is that oil, natural gas and coal are being exhausted at an alarming rate and if we continue to exploit these oil resources at our current pace, we will see a massive depletion in energy resources over the next 41 years. The authors also focus on representing the intensity of greenhouse gas emissions from energy consumption, demonstrating that it has shown a slight decrease in the European Union. This study examines the cointegration and short- and long-run causal relationships between economic growth and CO2 emissions, fuel consumption and the amount of freight transported by road transport in the Visegrad Group countries between 1990 and 2019. The autoregressive distributed lag (ARDL) bound testing methodology was used to develop the results for each tested dependent variable. The results confirmed a long-run cointegration between economic growth and fuel consumption by road transport in the Czech Republic and Slovakia. In addition, a long-run relationship between economic growth and freight volume and CO2 emissions by transport was demonstrated for Slovakia. For Poland, there was only a long-run relationship between energy consumption by road freight transport and CO2 emissions.
