On Deploying the Internet of Energy with 5G Open RAN Technology including Beamforming Mechanism

The Internet of Energy is the deployment of IoT technology within energy systems (including distributed power monitoring and measuring points, energy plant sensors, points of distribution) to increase the efficiency of the whole infrastructure while decreasing energy waste. Due to criticality and the extension of the Internet of Energy, it needs an underlying network with vast coverage and high-efficiency parameters. In this paper, we argue that the 5G network is suitable for the Internet of Energy and present a concrete 5G implementation based on Open RAN that may gain in flexibility while reducing costs. In our simulations, we model and validate beamforming mechanism in Open RAN 5G and show that beamforming may achieve high-efficiency parameters that the Internet of Energy requires.

Multi-Sensor Data Fusion Approach for Kinematic Quantities

A theoretical framework to implement multi-sensor data fusion methods for kinematic quantities is proposed. All methods defined through the framework allow the combination of signals obtained from position, velocity and acceleration sensors addressing the same target, and improvement in the observation of the kinematics of the target. Differently from several alternative methods, the considered ones need no dynamic and/or error models to operate and can be implemented with low computational burden. In fact, they gain measurements by summing filtered versions of the heterogeneous kinematic quantities. Construction of Smart Grid Load Forecast Model by Edge Computing

Edge Computing (EC) technology is used to forecast PGS load and optimize the PGS load forecasting model. Following a literature review of EC and Internet of Things (IoT)-native edge devices, an intelligent PGS-oriented Resource Management Scheme (RMS) and PGS load forecasting model are proposed based on task offloading. HOG-SVM-Based Image Feature Classification Method for Sound Recognition of Power Equipments

In this paper, a method of power system equipment recognition based on image processing is proposed. Firstly, we carry out wavelet transform on the sound signal of power system equipment collected from the site, and obtain the wavelet coefficient−time diagram. Then, the similarity of wavelet coefficients−time images of different equipment and the same equipment in different periods is calculated, which is used as the basis of the feasibility of image recognition. Finally, we select the HOG features of the image, and classify the selected features using SVM classifier. The method proposed in this paper can accurately identify and classify power system equipment through sound signals, and is different from the traditional method of classifying sound signals directly. The advantages of image processing can be effectively utilized through image processing to avoid the limitations of sound signal processing.
