Torque Enhancement Principle of Stator PM Vernier Machine by Consequent Pole Structure

In this study, a torque enhancement principle for a stator permanent-magnet (PM) Vernier machine with a consequent pole structure is proposed. The novelty of the manuscript is the explanation of how stator PM Vernier machines benefit from consequent pole structure. Although a similar concept of stator PM Vernier machines with a consequent pole structure has been investigated in previous studies, a clear torque enhancement principle was absent. The keys to torque enhancement are the decrement of nonworking harmonics and increment of working harmonics. To demonstrate these phenomena, the torque contributions from the harmonics were calculated. This paper is a study of unintended cogging torque for the IPMSM (Internal Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor) of an EPS (Electric Power Steering) system considering manufacturing disturbances. The IPMSM has been used recently in EPS systems with high power density. However, due to the complex rotor shape of the IPMSM, considering manufacturing disturbances, it is expected to reduce the quality of IPMSM performance. Therefore, the unintended cogging torque for motor quality is also expected to increase. This paper analyzes the causes of unintended cogging torque in the IPMSM of an EPS system considering manufacturing disturbances. Based on the harmonic order analysis of measured cogging torque for the IPMSM prototypes, the causes of unintended cogging torque in the IPMSM are verified due to the manufacturing disturbances.

The Gallium Nitride high electron mobility transistor (GaN HEMT) has been considered as a potential power semiconductor device for high switching speed and high power density application since its commercialization. Compared with the traditional Si transistors, GaN HEMT has faster switching speed and lower on-off loss. As a result, it is more sensitive to the nonlinear parameters due to the fast switching speed. The subsequent voltage and current overshooting will affect the efficiency and safety of the GaN HEMT and power electronic systems. The complex flow phenomena in a three-dimensional supersonic steam ejector were simulated with a non-equilibrium condensation model including real physical properties in different pressure conditions. The different working conditions include discharge pressure, motive pressure, and suction pressure. The influence of different pressures on shock waves in the steam ejector was investigated comprehensively. The intrinsic causes of shock wave variation with pressure conditions were explained in detail. The results show that the width of the primary shock train region expand with an increase in the motive pressure or a decrease in suction pressure. In this study, the conductivity and permittivity of electrical pressboard—insulating liquid—water composites were investigated, and the electrical properties of the composites and water were analysed comparatively. Mineral oil and synthetic ester were used as insulating liquids. It was found that the presence of water caused an increase in the permeability of the composite in the frequency range below 100 Hz. The value of static permittivity determined by water in the content of 5 wt. % was approximately 15. To obtain this value caused by liquid water, its volume should be approximately five (oil) and four times (ester) higher than its actual content, respectively. The determined values of the activation energy of the DC conductivity of the composites were several times higher than the values of the activation energy of the conductivity of the liquid water. This study deals with gaseous insulation contaminated by free moving particles. Two gases were investigated: SF6 (0.45 MPa) and a CO2/O2 gas mixture (0.75 MPa). Video recordings were used to track a free particle moving between a plate and a Rogowski electrode for validation of a 1D particle motion model. The effect of fixed and free particles (4 or 8 mm, Ø 0.9 mm) on the breakdown voltage and the mean time between breakdowns was determined in a concentric set of electrodes. The value of the breakdown voltage for a free particle was between those of a particle fixed to the enclosure and the central electrode. The particle motion in the concentric case could not be observed in the experimental set-up and was therefore simulated using a 1D model. Specific parameters of cake filtration, such as the filter cake and filter medium resistances, can be determined using the pressurized housing cell standardized in the guideline VDI 2762 by measuring the filtrate mass on a laboratory scale. For reproducible measurements and an exact detection of the filtration start, an improved test setup is presented and compared with a standard setup according to the guideline VDI 2762. On the basis of measurements without and with a particle system to be filtered, it is shown that the characteristic nonlinear course at the beginning of each filtration, which can be seen in the t/V-V diagram, is influenced by the used measuring equipment.

Monitoring 137Cs in seawater is necessary for the timely detection of radioactive contamination. The possibility of sorption and the sorption efficiency of 137Cs from seawater were studied for the first time during several cruises of the R/V (research vessel) Professor Vodyanitsky using various types of sorbents based on transition metal ferrocyanides (Anfezh, Niket, Uniket, FSS, FD-M, FIC, Termoxid 35, NKF-C) and zirconium phosphate (Termoxid 3A). The influence of the seawater flow rate and volume of the sorbent used for the recovery of 137Cs was estimated. The ferrocyanide sorbents Niket, Uniket, Termoxid 35, and FIC showed the best sorption efficiency (60−100%) at a seawater flow rate of 2−4 column volumes per minute. The data obtained during three cruises on the R/V Professor Vodyanitsky were analyzed. Inductive current transformers are characterized by different transformation accuracies for higher harmonics of distorted primary currents. Therefore, it is highly required to perform the tests of their metrological properties to choose the best unit that ensures the lowest values of current error and phase displacement. The paper presents investigations and analysis of the parameters of the magnetic part of the equivalent circuit of the inductive CT in the frequencies range from 50 Hz to 5 kHz. Analysis of Wide-Frequency Dense Signals Based on Fast Minimization Algorithm

To improve the detection speed for wide-frequency dense signals (WFDSs), a fast minimization algorithm (FMA) was proposed in this study. Firstly, this study modeled the WFDSs and performed a Taylor-series expansion of the sampled model. Secondly, we simplified the sampling model based on the augmented Lagrange multiplier (ALM) method and then calculated the augmented Lagrange function of the sampling model. Finally, according to the alternating minimization strategy, the Lagrange multiplier vector and the sparse block phasor in the function were iterated individually to realize the measurement of the original signal components. The results show that the algorithm improved the analysis accuracy of the WFDS by 35% to 46% on the IEEE C37.118.1a-2014 standard for the wide-frequency noise test, harmonic modulation test, and step-change test, providing a theoretical basis for the development of the P-class phasor measurement unit (PMU).

The rigid catenary system is widely used in tunnels to power electric trains via contact with a pantograph. Due to gravity, the contact wire normally has a sag that may affect the dynamic interaction performance with a pantograph. To reduce the contact wire sag, the most efficient measure is to improve the moment of inertia of the conductor rail, which is used to clamp the contact wire. Long-term erosion and repeated scouring of water significantly affect the technical properties of coals, which are the essential elements that must be considered in evaluating an underground reservoir coal column dam’s standing sustainability. In the paper, the coal pillar dam body of the 22 layers of coal in the Shangwan Coal Mine is studied (22 represents No. 2 coal seam), and the water content of this coal pillar dam body is simplified into two types of different water content and dry−wet cycle. Through acoustic emission detection technology and energy dissipation analysis method, the internal failure mechanism of coal water action is analyzed. This study revealed three findings.
