PhD position in Process Systems Engineering at NTNU

The Department of Chemical Engineering at the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU) has an open PhD position on research which combines “model predictive control approaches with reliability, equipment degradation, and safety considerations”, writes Professor Johannes Jäschke, who will be supervising the PhD candidate. Some of the research topics involve robust MPC, short term optimal operations of processes, and safe parking of processes in case of faults.

Because the position is a part of the Marie Skłodowska-Curie Doctoral Network PROSAFE, there is a limitation that the candidate cannot have “resided or carried out their main activity (work, studies, etc.) in Norway for more than 12 months in the past 3 years.” As a part of PROSAFE, the candidate will work as a part of a larger international team of 12 PhD candidates throughout Europe.
