Faculty Openings at Auburn University
The Auburn University Department of Chemical Engineering invites applications for multiple tenure-track faculty positions, with an anticipated start date of August 2025.
The department seeks outstanding candidates with a Ph.D. in chemical engineering or a closely related field. Ph.D. (or terminal degree) required at the time employment begins. Although the areas of expertise are open, priority will be given to candidates in catalysis, computational catalysis, and process systems engineering areas with a sustainability focus. The individual selected for these positions will be expected to contribute to the growth of at least one of the department’s strategic focus areas: energy and environment, advanced materials, computer-aided chemical engineering, and pharmaceutical/biomedical engineering.
The successful candidates will demonstrate excellence in research and teaching in the area of chemical engineering. Desired qualifications include a strong record of scholarly publication, an ability to attract externally sponsored research funding, and an ability to effectively teach undergraduate and graduate courses. While our primary focus is hiring at the Assistant Professor level, appointment of associate or full professor rank is possible commensurate with experience and qualifications. A detailed description of the positions and qualifications can be found on the Chemical Engineering Department website: http://eng.auburn.edu/chen/.
