Two PhD Positions in AI for PSE at the Norwegian University of Science and Technology
Two PhD positions have been announced at NTNU (Trondheim, Norway) of interest to PSEcommunity.org readers. Both positions are a part of the AI-Powered integrated Reservoir, flow, and process Optimization (AI-PRO) project. The goal of the project is to produce generalizable methods at the intersection of scientific machine learning, reservoir/production engineering, and process systems engineering. The research will be collaborative with other project participants, including researchers and industrial collaborators.
Position 1: AI for Hydrocarbon Process Systems Engineering, in the department of Energy and Process Engineering, under Prof. Thomas A. Adams II. This position will focus on the research of physics-informed AI-based models of surface-level processes and their subsequent use in simulations, design, optimization, and enviro-technoeconomic assessments. [full announcement].
Position 2: AI for Integrated Asset Modeling and Optimization, in the department of Geosciences, under Dr. Ashkan Jahanbani Ghahfarokhi. his position will focus on the research of physics-informed AI-based models of reservoir and flow, and their subsequent use in simulations, design, optimization, and enviro-technoeconomic assessments. [full announcement]
Both positions have similar requirements and applications, but Position 1 will be more on surface level activities, and Position 2 will focus more on integrated assets, including sub-sea activities.
It is possible to apply for both positions, but they must be applied for separately (fill out both applications).
All qualified applicants are encouraged to apply!
For questions, contact Prof. Adams at thomas.a.adams@ntnu.no.
And as always, be sure to write in your cover letter that you saw this on PSEcommunity.org!
