PhD candidate position at City University of Hong Kong

Professor Jiaze Ma at the City University of Hong Kong has an open PhD position for research in the areas of multiscale hydrogen systems, graph-based optimization and decomposition algorithms with distributed computing (GPUs). Interested candidates should apply through the Hong Kong PhD Fellowship Scheme, which provides a monthly stipend of HK$28,100 (approximately US$3,600) and a conference and research-related travel allowance of HK$14,000 (approximately US$1,790) per year for the awardees for a maximum period of three years. 

Dr. Ma writes to us that the Hong Kong PhD Fellowship Scheme will invite applications for 2025 entry from 1 September to 1 December 2024. He asks candidates to consider the following key milestones and application procedures:

Step 1: Applicants should first submit an initial application at RGC’s Online Application System (OAS) (https://cerg1.ugc.edu.hk/hkpfs/apply.html) to obtain a RGC reference number (RGC’s deadline: 1 December 2024).

Step 2: Applicants are then required to submit full application, together with supporting documents, to CityUHK’s Online Admission System, and quote the RGC reference number (CityUHK’s deadline: 1 December 2024).
