Grad Student Positions @ Université Laval

Prof. Carl Duchesne at the Université Laval in Québec, Canada writes to tell us about multiple student postings at the MSc candidate and PhD candidate levels that may be of interest to our readers. The project is jointly funded by the National Science and Engineering Research Council (NSERC) of Canada and Alcoa Corporation, and is in the area of advanced monitoring and control schemes for the primary aluminum industry. Two projects are available:

  • Advanced cell monitoring and control based on individual anode electrical currents (PhD or MSc). [full posting]
  • Automatic control of green anode resistivity (PhD only) [full posting].

Both projects come with research funding for the student, and the student would be expected to start May 22. Both projects also would involve direct collaboration with the industrial partner.

For more information, check out the full posting links above, and as always, be sure to mention that you saw the announcement on PSEcommunity.org.
