Opening for Project Officer at the McMaster Advanced Control Consortium

The McMaster Advanced Control Consortium (MACC) promotes and advances process automation and related process systems engineering technologies through academe-industry interactions. The consortium is comprised of members spanning petroleum, chemical, steel, materials and control technology vendor industries. A vacancy exists for a Project Officer associated with an umbrella project (Enhancing Competitiveness of Industrial Process Operations through Responsive, Flexible and Cleaner Production) that is funded through industrial contributions and a provincial grant. The project is led by a group of faculty members in the Department of Chemical Engineering at McMaster University, and who are affiliated with MACC.

The Project Officer will be responsible for managing the project’s finances through forecasting, tracking and reporting; assisting in the writing research progress reports; managing the hardware and software infrastructure of the project; maintaining the project website, liaising with companies and university personnel on research interactions, IP arrangements and contracts; developing related research proposals in collaboration with university researchers and industry partners; organizing events and workshops; and making technical contributions through participation in project-related research activities.
